Manufactured By

Silagra 100mg is a prescription oral medication. It’s designed to address two common conditions in men: Erectile Dysfunction (ED) and Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH). This medication helps men who struggle to achieve or sustain a firm erection necessary for sexual activity. Each Silagra 100mg tablet contains 100 mg of Sildenafil Citrate. Sildenafil Citrate is classified as a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor. Sildenafil works by increasing cGMP levels. This leads to smooth muscle relaxation. It also causes heightened penile blood flow. Ultimately, this results in an erection. However, this medication will only aid in achieving an erection if you are sexually stimulated. Silagra 100mg is available in blister packs containing 10 pills each. It is manufactured by Cipla Ltd. Follow your doctor’s recommendations for this medication’s safest and most effective use.

How does it Work?

The medication contains the active ingredient Sildenafil Citrate. This ingredient enhances blood flow to the penis during sexual arousal. The improved blood flow facilitates an erection.

During sexual stimulation, the blood vessel lining in the penis releases nitric oxide (NO), which triggers the production of cGMP in the smooth muscle cells of the penis.

cGMP prompts the smooth muscle cells to relax. This action widens the penis’ blood vessels.

The relaxation of smooth muscle cells allows for improved blood flow into the spongy tissue of the penis. This tissue is called the corpus cavernosum.

The increased blood flow fills the spongy tissue, leading to an erection.

These pills do not directly induce an erection. Instead, it enhances the natural erectile response by amplifying penile blood flow upon sexual stimulation.

Uses

  1. Erectile dysfunction (ED): A condition characterized by the inability to achieve and maintain an erection.
  2. Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH): A condition characterized by high blood pressure in the arteries that carry blood from the heart to the lungs.

Recommended Dose

The recommended starting dose of Silagra is 50mg, taken approximately 30-60 minutes before sexual activity.

The dose can be increased to 100mg or decreased to 25mg, depending on your response and tolerability.

Silagra can be taken with or without food. However, if taken after a high-fat meal, such as a cheeseburger and fries, it may take longer to start working.

Do not take the medication more than once a day.

Missed Dose

If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. Do not take two doses at once to make up for the missed one.

If it’s nearly time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed one and stick to your regular dosing routine. Avoid doubling up doses to make up for a missed one.

Seek medical attention immediately if you experience symptoms of an overdose, such as severe dizziness, fainting, or prolonged and painful erection.
