Vidalista 5mg is a medication used to treat erectile dysfunction in men. It belongs to a class of drugs called phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors. The active ingredient in Vidalista 5mg is tadalafil. It works by improving blood flow to the male genital organ during sexual stimulation. This helps in achieving a firm erection.  Vidalista 5mg can work for up to 36 hours. Its effects last longer than other PDE5 inhibitors like sildenafil (Viagra). Tadalafil is designed for men seeking longer-lasting, more flexible and spontaneous sexual experiences. It also helps treat symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia and pulmonary arterial hypertension.

How does it Work?

Vidalista 5mg contains the active ingredient tadalafil. It belongs to a group of drugs called phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors.

When a person is sexually stimulated, a molecule called nitric oxide (NO) is released within the penis. This increases levels of another molecule called the cGMP. cGMP causes the smooth muscles inside the penis to relax.

As a result, the blood vessels open wider allowing for blood to flow. It causes the corpus cavernosa (the spongy tissue in the penis responsible for erections) to swell. Thus, the penis becomes larger and stiff enough for sexual intercourse.

However, an enzyme called PDE5 breaks down cGMP molecules, ending the erection. PDE5 inhibitors such as tadalafil stop PDE5 from working too quickly. It prevents the cGMP breakdown. Hence, the action of nitric oxide is enhanced, promoting blood flow. This helps prolong the erection, making it firm enough for satisfactory intercourse.

Note that Vidalista itself directly does not cause an erection. It helps the body respond better to sexual arousal. A person needs to be sexually stimulated for Vidalista to work.

Tadalafil lasts longer than PDE5 inhibitors such as sildenafil. Sildenafil (e.g., Viagra) remains in effect for 4 to 6 hours. Tadalafil (Vidalista) may help men achieve erections for up to 36 hours.

Uses

  • Erectile Dysfunction (ED):

Difficulty getting or keeping an erection firm enough for sexual activity.

  • Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH):

A benign condition in which the prostate gland is larger than usual. Men with this BPH may have problems with urination. Benign means it’s not cancer.

  • Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH):

Recommended Dose

The recommended dosage of Vidalista 5mg is a tablet once a day. If you take it as required for ED, take it 30 minutes to 1 hour before sex. Swallow the tablet as a whole with a glass of water. It can be taken with or without food.

Do not take 2 doses of generic Vidalista at the same time. Do not take an extra dose or more than one tablet in 24 hours.

For treating other conditions, take Vidalista as prescribed. Doses can vary as per your response to the medicine. Ask your doctor how often you should take it. Stick to the prescribed dosage and frequency to get optimal results.

Missed Dose

For erectile dysfunction, Vidalista 5mg is taken when needed. So, there is little chance of missing a dose. If you’re not sure if you took a pill or skipped a dose by mistake, do not take another one in 24 hours.

For other conditions like BPH, if you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If you remember at a time close to your next dose, skip the missed dose. Continue the next doses as usual.
